It's a Lie! Don't Fall For It

Hello,

It's Sunita here.

Pick a friend.

Make the time.

To sit together.

Not a bunch of friends.

A friend.

Sit. Ask. Tell. Be quiet. Be deliberate in your intention to connect. Be honest in your conversation.

Be mindful of not using the word ‘busy’ in your conversation.

Let the time unfold instead of having a plan for the visit.

Above all, be kind and open.

I had a friend do that for me recently.

Our nervous system responds to such events in a very positive way.

Connecting to others is a primal need and drive of ours.

We are living in times that are not conducive or structured for such evenings to be common, unless we make them happen. We are trained to keep saying, and ultimately believing, that we are busy.

That is a lie.

Often, we find our worth only when we have a pile up of things to do. And people to meet. But inside, we are left feeling deeply unsatisfied, stressed, and yearning for meaning.

We have control of our time.

We have a choice.

Thank you friend, for choosing to be with me.

Until next time,
Moving forwards,
Sunita

Gorgeous Gray

Hello,

It's Sunita here.

DRESSED

Morning walk under a drizzling sky.

A pop of colors begs to be seen.

I am compelled to stop and speak with these glorious miracles.

I speak in poem.

I see you, orange.

I see you, yellow.

I see you, green.

I see you, garnet red.

I see you, brown.

I see you, silent in worship under this somber sky that is showering us with a bountiful space,

To be contemplative and mournful, while we twirl in delight.

Let us wash ourselves, with its gift of these pure droplets.

Let us start anew, with the refreshed stories of our past.

Let us cross over to another day, carrying with us, the tender ghosts of our stories.

How blessed are we?

Yesterday, we were not what we are today.

A moment ago, we were not who we are right now.

To think that I passed by you just yesterday and only saw buds.

Look at you now.

Look at me now.

How glorious are we?

Let us rejoice with the divine in the sky.

Today, it wears a gorgeous gray.

Alice Miller's 'The Drama of The Gifted Child'- An Opportunity to Examine our Life

Hello,

It's Sunita here.

Once I read Alice Miller's book, 'The Drama of The Gifted Child' I wondered why this book is not required reading for every adult before they choose to become a parent. Instead of all the other baby books out there, I believe, this is the seminal read for any human being who desires, and aims to be a loving parent to a baby.

It is however, a very difficult read for those of us who may have suffered as a child. Because it is raw, honest, and descriptive, with tremendous clarity of how damage is done to children- in most cases, with no intention of doing so.

But it also is tremendously empowering to such individuals by outlining how to get out of the invisible prison of our childhood.

I offered this material to myself as a resource to start understanding my pain and dysfunction as an adult. It was immensely helpful in gaining a contextual understanding of the source of much of what was not working in my life. The 'Drama of The Gifted Child' helped me make sense of what I unconsciously felt, but had no language to express it with.

I offer it to you in case you are ready to take steps to do the work necessary for you to live free and whole.

The choice to get on that journey can only be made by you.

So, what say you?

Until next time,
